Techno Club  

The Technology committee of the Institute is christened as Techno Club. The committee stems from a belief that our students are the sculptors of the New World. The committee bids to encourage the scientific temper of the engineering students to put their innovations into a concrete form. 
The Committee deals with inventions, brainstorming and lots of Technology. It includes activities relating to Computers, Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical and much more...
Events organised 
Engineer's Day:
-Engineer's Day was celebrated on 15th September 2010 by the Institute to mark the impact of M. Visvesvaraya on all the engineers.
-The event was started by an informative lecture by Dr. Maneek Kumar; HOD (Chemical Engineering) Thapar University.
-Students presented papers on varied topics ranging from: Biometrics, Nanotechnology, Space Elevator, IT in Business-Cyber Crime and Security etc. They had to present within 5-7 Minutes.
-A Techno quiz competition was conducted including four rounds judging the technical know-how and general awareness of  the students.
Winners : Gurdyal Singh, Suneet Kumar and Rohit.
Event was based on quick and correct response. Random alphabet was given to the students in a sequence and a word starting from same alphabet was expected in not more than two seconds. Students were energetic and a good competition rose among the students. Event was open for all B.Tech and MBA Students.
Winners:  Renu 5th sem , CSE, Deepak 7th Sem,CSE,  Priyanka, CSE, Meenu CSE
This Technical event was based on technology. Students were asked to select any technology of their choice and act on the same. One of the interesting facts about this event was the students who dressed themselves according to the technology. Thus providing with all the positives and negatives about it. The show proved to be knowledge Gaining and Innovative.
Winners:  First Position – Jannat, Second Position – Meenu, Third Position – Navneet/Gurpreet
This event was planned for the enhancement of students in the Interview skills. Puzzle based questions that are usually asked in the interviews of big companies were given to the students. Full involvement and enthusiasm of the students made this event more interesting and Competitive. Time limit of 2 minutes was assigned to each team. Prize distribution ceremony motivated students for participation.

There was a quiz on general awareness. The quiz had provided a unique and exciting platform for students to encourage their thinking skills as they are preparing themselves to become future managers. The quiz was open for all graduate and post graduate students. The questions were based on Indian / International business, Indian culture & tourism, general awareness, current affairs, media & entertainment, history, geography, sports, science and technology. In first round there were 40 questions to be solved in 30 minutes. From which top 8 contestants were selected. In second round the above Contestants were divided into 4 teams of 2 members each. This show encouraged students in a positive way. Prize distribution ceremony took place at the end of the show.
