An Institute is an ocean of learning. Only the student who dives deep within with perseverance and sincerity can find pearls of wisdom.


INSTRUCTIONS FOR STUDENTS



The Institute lays down certain rules about how the students must conduct themselves. Students must adhere to these rules and protocols, and all such instructions as are notified from time to time.
100 marks will be credited to all students in the beginning of the session for the entire course. Any student indulging in any of the mentioned indiscipline will have a deduction of certain number of marks as per the ‘ACTION AGAINST INDISCIPLINE’ document. The marks to be deducted can be revoked by the Discipline Committee depending upon the severity of the indiscipline.
The defaulters will be appropriately punished including fine, reduction in marks, expulsion etc.  For major punishment such as expulsion/rustication from the Institute, the case will be referred to the Discipline Committee of the Institute.
Students must aspire to have more than 80 marks. Severe action will be taken on students getting less than 80 marks. The break-up of these marks being:

1. GENERAL DISCIPLINE

1.1. MOBILE PHONES

      1.1.1. Disciplinary action shall be taken against a student if found using Cell Phone in the academic area. The Academic area includes Classrooms, Labs and College Premises.

      1.1.2. Mobile phones must be switched off in Class rooms and Labs. No Text messaging or calls would be allowed in the classroom/lab.

      1.1.3. No music should be played in institute premises (except events) also, students should not be found clicking photographs during academic sessions, seminars etc.

1.2. DRESS CODE / UNIFORM

      1.2.1. Students must be dressed in decent and professional attire. Action will be taken on students wearing unnecessary accessories.

      1.2.2. Uniforms must be worn on all Wednesdays and on all days as days notified on Institute notice board.

1.3. WEAPONS / FIREARMSeapons/Firearms

    Students are not allowed to keep firearms or any other lethal weapons on the campus

2. CLASS ROOM BEHAVIOUR

    Students must maintain dignity of the class rooms and Labs. Certain behaviour is expected of students in the classrooms and labs.

    2.1. Students must enter the class rooms and Labs before the respective faculty and behave properly.

    2.2. Preparation of Assignments and Class Test must be done after the scheduled classes are over

3. ATTENDANCE

    3.1. Students must have attendance more than 75% in all the subjects.

    3.2. Punitive action will be taken on students indulging in Mass bunking of Class Room and Labs.

    3.3. Students must be present during all college functions, Sports meet or any such activity. Absence would result in disciplinary action against the student.

    3.4. No Student will be allowed to leave the campus without an authorized gate pass.

 

4. MISBEHAVIOUR AGAINST FACULTY / STAFF

    4.1. Students must respect the faculty/Lab staff/Administration staff at all given time. Misbehaviour will be punished.

    4.2. Action will be taken against Indiscipline during educational tours, industrial visits, sports and cultural functions as per Discipline Committee document.

    4.3. No Indiscipline will be tolerated during sports and cultural functions.

5. INSTITUTE's PROPERTY/PREMISES

    5.1. Punitive action will be taken on any wilful damage by the students to the Institute’s property.

    5.2. Students are required to maintain the cleanliness of the Institute. Action will be taken on any student found littering in the institute premises.

    5.3. During Computer lab hours and free time students accessing irrelevant sites will be punished as per Discipline committee document.

6. EXAMINATION

    An examination is a reflection of a student's learning. Students must be fair while giving exams. Any use of unfair means would result in punitive action as per the CPUM discipline document.

7. RAGGING

Ragging, in any form, is banned in the Institute and after enquiry, if anyone found indulging in ragging will be expelled. Anti-ragging committees shall keep continuous vigil for the defaulters.
Ragging includes, but will not be confined to the following:

7.1. Any disorderly conduct whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness any other student

7.2. Indulgence in undisciplined activities which cause or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm

7.3.To raise fear or in a fresher or a junior student or asking the students to indulge in any unwilling act which such student will not do in the ordinary course and which has the effect of causing a sense of shame or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of a fresher or a junior student.

 

ACTION AGAINST INDISCIPLINE

 

Students will be awarded 100 marks from the beginning of session for the entire course. Any Student indulging in any of the afore mentioned indiscipline will have corresponding marks deducted from the 100 marks.

It is necessary for students to maintain minimum 70 marks. Students having less than 70 marks will not be allowed to sit for FINAL PLACEMENTS.

However, scientific non-programmable calculator can be used in the examinations.

The examination to be cancelled and student will be awarded

CATEGORY III

 

If during the examination hours, i.e., after receipt of the question paper and before handing over the answer-book, a student is found:

If during the examination hours, i.e., after receipt of the question paper and before handing over
the answer-book, a student is found:

examination hours.

 Having received help from or given help to another candidate through some written
material pertaining to the questions set in the paper concerned or passing on a copy of
question set in paper or a solution thereof to any other student.
