PROFESSIONALISM WEEK

 

In order to make the students realize the value of professionalism, a weeklong Professionalism program was conducted from 7th March 2011 to 11th March 2011. The program included seminars from various academicians. The key speakers for the week were -

Ms. Chunesh Bhalla (GJIET) - She highlighted about the role of women in the social system of India.

Mr. Anurag Garg (GJIET) – He described about the most influential Indian business women.  The entire session was revolved around the changing scenario about the women in India like how the women who once used to be within the boundaries of a house now have taken the centre stage even in the big business conglomerates whether it is a job or entrepreneurship.

Dr. Babita (GJIMT) - Dr. Babita taught the students about the various Group Discussion & Interview etiquettes which should be taken care by a person when he/she is planning up for a GD/an Interview.  Apart from that she also described about the body language which one should take care during the GDs & interviews.  Another topic covered by her was the dressing sense to be taken care while going for interviews and later on in corporate world.

Mr. Dinesh Kumar (GJIMT) & Ms. Samarjit Gill (GJIMT) - Mr. Dinesh & Ms. Samarjit Gill shared about the effective communication & presentation skills which are needed to address the people.

Mr. Gurdeepak singh (GJIMT) – He touched the various aspects related to life and its values.  He mentioned that we should plan our future & career as per our interests.  We should put ourselves in a habit of making our portfolio of whatever we do n our life whether it is a small project or whether it is a high level job, these are things which really pay-off us in long term.

Ms. Navreet Kaur (GJIMT) – She also talked about the effective body language & other GD etiquettes required to convert a GD / interview successfully.
